God of War has become one of the most popular brutal action games in recent years, selling over 11m units worldwide.
With two full PS2 titles, one PS3 game, two PSP iterations and a mobile game under its belt, as well as a PS3 HD?collection, Sony recognises the strength of its bloody take on the world of Greek mythology.
In God of War: Collection II, PS3 owners are granted the chance to own the two PSP games, Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta, on one Blu-ray disc. Both titles are critically acclaimed with Metacritic scores of 91 and 86 respectively. In fact, Chains of Olympus is the highest-rated PSP game on Metacritic of all time.
The games come remastered in 1080p HD and stereoscopic 3D, giving players an extra incentive to buy, whether they already own the PSP titles or not. The release comes as part of a string of game collection packs from Sony.
Chains of Olympus follows protagonist Kratos as he opposes the goddess Persephone who wants to destroy Mount Olympus, while Ghost of Sparta sees him explore his past against the advice of Athena. Both titles feature the bloody hack ‘n’ slash gameplay that God of War fans have grown to love as well as epic bosses and environments based on Greek mythology such as the Temple of Poseidon in the city of Atlantis.
With improved visuals, surround sound support, unlockable trophies and two popular God of War games, Volume II is an essential purchase for fans of the series and those who may not have played the PSP?titles.
