The greatest hits of Just Dance return in a new low-price retail release. We take a closer look at the title.
Everyone knows what a phenomenal success Ubisoft’s Just Dance franchise is.
Unit sales have exceeded 25m across the globe and at least 4.3m copies have been sold in the UK alone. Players cumulatively dance along to over 7.5m songs every day. Most importantly for Ubisoft, it’s still the No.1 dancing game.
But with several SKUs hitting shelves since the 2009 Wii original, there’s hundreds of different songs for users to choose from.Introducing Just Dance Best Of – a collection of 25 selected tracks from Just Dance, Just Dance 2 and Just Dance 2: Extra Songs. These include ‘Satisfaction’ by Benny Benassi, ‘Eye of the Tiger’ by Survivor, ‘Firework’ by Katy Perry and ‘Cosmic Girl’ by Jamiroquai, all bundled in one £19.99 RRP box.
Four players can dance at the same time in Best Of’s multiplayer mode, compete in dance-off contests and, like previous games, follow the Wii Remote movement prompts in time to the music.
"With more than 4.3m units sold in the UK, Just Dance is now a real pop culture phenomenon," Ubisoft’s brand manager Rachael Grant tells MCV. "We are pleased to announce the arrival of Just Dance Best Of, the new title from the No.1 dancing game brand, where consumers can have fun dancing to 25 songs selected from the previous Just Dance games.
"It also includes two exclusive tracks never released on Wii in the UK before – ‘Only Girl’ by Rihanna and ‘Airplane’ by B.O.B.
“We see this as a great entry-level product for the consumer who hasn’t yet discovered Just Dance.”
