For a creature over 300 years old, Puss in Boots still looks surprisingly good.
As well as being widely known across the world for the late 1600s fairy tale, Puss is also a star in the popular Shrek films. Now he has his own movie and game on the way.
The fierce feline returns to UK cinema screens next month, again voiced by Mask of Zorro hunk Antonio Banderas. THQ is releasing a family-friendly action adventure game to tie in with the film’s launch, allowing players to take part in sword fights, perform acrobatic cat moves and sneak past enemies.
Gamers can control the iconic cat with his black hat, cape and fencing sword to duel ‘banditos’, or strum a guitar to serenade opponents into submission. Fans can relive the story, characters and locations from the film as they travel from Puss’ hometown, up the magic beanstalk and into the giant’s castle in the sky.
The storyline is set before Puss meets Shrek and Donkey, and is a novel take on Jack and the Beanstalk. Puss must confront two outlaws – Jack and Jill – before stealing their magic beans to head into a giant’s castle. It also includes other characters from nursery rhymes such as Humpty Dumpty.
You can expect kids to love Puss in Boots at both the Box Office and at High Street games store.
