Uncharted is undoubtedly one of the PS3’s killer apps.
The adventure series has gone down a storm with gamers, with the original Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune netting a score of 88 on Metacritic and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves achieving a 96.
Protagonist Nathan Drake is the Indiana Jones for a new generation. He’s everything a treasure hunter should be – bold, charming, funny, a hit with the ladies… plus, he knows how to blow stuff up.
Gameplay in the first two titles is a successful mix of third-person shooting, platforming, Tomb Raider-style puzzles and exploration tethered with a film-like narrative and impressive voiceovers. The result is an epic journey for gamers.
With a £29.99 RRP, this PS3 double pack presents a timely margin making opportunity for retailers ahead of the release of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in November. The new bundle also offers enormous value to buyers, with around 20 hours of total game time on offer for adept players, as well as a special Uncharted 3 PS3 theme and avatar.
In Drake’s Fortune, players must find the treasure of El Dorado and explore an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. In the sequel, Among Thieves, Drake is given the task of stealing a rare lamp from a museum, but soon gets involved in a bigger scheme which sends him across jungles, cities and the snow-caked Himalayan valley of Shambhala.
The titles are two of the PS3’s best. Both are ideal for fans and those who haven’t played them before but have always wanted to.
