Worms Collection contains three previously download-only Worms titles on one disc. The collection includes Team 17’s 2007 version of Worms, 2010’s Worms 2: Armageddon and the 3D game Worms: Ultimate Mayhem.
For those who’ve managed to miss out on this classic gaming gem, Worms can appear to have a very strange concept. You play as little worms – obviously – with high-pitched voices who for some reason or another are hellbent on blowing each other up. They also happen to be armed with rocket launchers, grenades and even killer sheep.
“We have over two million gamers who follow Worms avidly on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube,” said Garry Williams, business development director at Mastertronic. “We have created a social media campaign that runs from now through until November which engages the fans and points them to where they can buy this amazing pack of awesome.
“In addition, we have a series of high profile trailers that we will be releasing over the coming months which plays up to the unique humour and addictiveness Worms represents,” he added.
The Worms series spans over 20 different games and has remained popular over its 17 year history. It still holds today as an enjoyable and addictive multiplayer game. “This is one of the very few ‘family games’ that you can buy and play together,” said Williams.
“Whether on digital or in boxed, the Worms experience delivers fun, entertainment and a head-to-head challenge. The chance to see many elements of the Worms franchise brought together in one retail package is only going to add to the success of this franchise.”
Williams concluded: “Whatever the machine format, or delivery mechanism, Worms delivers.”
