X-Men: Destiny must be destroyed!

It’s common knowledge that Silicon knights lost its legal battle with Epic Games. But what came next is less widely known.

Eurogamer reports that following its loss SK was ordered to recall and destroy any unsold copies of games it built using Unreal – namely X-Men: Destiny, Too Human, The Sandman, Siren in the Maelstrom and The Box/Ritualyst.

It must also cease production of these titles. This process must be concluded by December 10th. SK must pay all costs associated with the order.

All of which perhaps backs up claims that SK is currently operating with a skeleton crew of around five devs.

This saga began back in May of this year when Epic Games was awarded damages of $4.45m after it defeated a lawsuit from Silicon Knights.

SK claimed Epic has supplied a botched version of Unreal Engine 3, which was used to develop 2008 Xbox 360 RPG Too Human. Silicon Knights claimed as far back as 2007 that Epic was "sabotaging efforts by Silicon Knights and others to develop their own video games".

A judge ultimately ruled against them.
