OPM are delighted to be working with a brand new client from the Scientific Industry looking to utalise the experience and creativity of a Games Developer.
The client is looking to create a Social VR Platform for the Scientific Community and Industry. Joining them, you will be a part of the creation of a first-ever VR/AR World of Science and Technology experience; a collaborative Virtual and Augmented Reality gaming platform between industry leading scientists and universities.

As the Principal VR Programmer you will be helping in creating fun and engaging game systems to thrill a whole new audience of scientists.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead a team of programmers to develop the vision and drive technical excellence
Evaluate and upgrade the technical skills of engineers on the team
Serve as an active partner in the VR team’s leadership
Implement gameplay systems in a self-organizing, interdisciplinary team
Write and maintain technical design and software system documentation
Analyse and optimise systems as required
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Strong C++ knowledge
Former experience in leading a team of programmers
Ability to design and communicate gameplay systems to a team
Experience with 3D Game Engines
BS (or higher) in Computer Science or a similar discipline (i.e. Physics, Math, EE, etc.)
Strong verbal and written communication skills in Englis
Unreal Engine 4 development experience or
Experience working on multiplayer games in general, ideally on a MMO are a huge plus
Performance optimization skills
Experience in client / server architecture as well as implementing multiplayer gameplay
Knowledge of database development (MySQL, Oracle, ... )
