This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a studio that are crucial partners to game development teams, providing expert black box testing, automated testing and other technical approaches, data analysis and actionable reports.
This position requires the individual to integrate themselves, into the games development team, whilst keeping the focus on quality and maintaining their testing integrity. The successful applicant will be able to quickly build relationships and establish trust with development partners whilst balancing supporting the development team’s needs with completing testing tasks assigned to them. They should be a quality evangelist promoting early testing and bug resolution.
Component testing of early game features in partnership with the development team
Maintaining build stability by early capture of major issues and rapid escalation to the development team
Identifying risks and weakness in the development or integration of code and highlighting these to the development team and wider testing group
Ensuring the testability of code delivered to Black box testing by conducting build verification testing and/or analysing the results from automated smoke testing
Driving a ‘test early’ methodology within the development team, testing complex features before they are integrated into the main code base
Promoting quality early in the development cycle by highlighting issues and providing feedback
Essential Skills: Proven track record in games testing, demonstrated knowledge of software development processes and technical understanding of software/game elements, proven track record of testing until completion in a QA environment with at least 2 projects completed and shipped.
