Description:
Our client is an award winning well respected studio based in Oxford.
They have a wide range of titles within their portfolio and have a number of exciting titles that they are currently working on.
They are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Environment Artist to join a multi-disciplined team based at their studio in Oxford.
You will be specifically responsible for creating and lighting game environments.
Overview of position
Reporting to Lead Artist on the project
Creating memorable and immersive game environments.
Liaises with Art Director to achieve look and style
Hard Skills
Experience in creating high quality environment assets
Experience in exporting and reviewing created assets making sure all elements are working correctly and to specification. ? Good eye for lighting, composition and colour within an environment
Experienced in lighting scenery using a variety of methods
Knowledge of shader editing and application
Experienced placing and refining cameras
Experience in animating scene elements or props
Soft skills
Good verbal communicator, clear and constructive and able to reach consensus
Good at time management, able to organise own work
Able to document and express ideas through written and visual methods
Software Knowledge
Power user of 3DS Max
Power user of Photoshop
Mixed experience in editors, Unreal, Unity, Blitz and proprietary engines vital
3rd party plugin and supplementary software a plus, Particles, Detail modelling, UV editing
Responsibilities
Produce artwork to a high standard, setting and maintaining quality bench marks
Support Lead in the management of the team
Contribute to the planning and strategy for production
Support and mentor junior artists
Raise issues and contribute to their resolution
Critique and provide constructive feedback
You must have a showreel
