OPM are looking for a motivated and passionate Game Developer that aspires to take browser games to the next level. In ambitious projects you will build up and maintain high-value game productions as Java Software Engineer in a multi-disciplinary team. With your experience, preferably from previous game developments, you are able to provide a strong technical background and motivate a team to create great games!
Main Responsibilities
You work on the server backend of a browser-based high-quality MMO game
You build and extend a game, and shape its future
You create and maintain the games structure, persistency, communication and logic
You develop and improve architectures, pipelines and processes along the way
You will define and design software requirements and specifications derived from Game Design Documents and implement these accordingly
You are able to tackle larger goals or tasks, plan and develop engineering solutions, specify and communicate these tasks
You cooperate with project management, game design and QA departments to ensure on-time high quality delivery
You prioritize, multi-task and perform in a deadline oriented environment
Required Experience, Skills and Abilities
You are an experienced software engineer with high architectural and guiding experience and provide relevant job experience
You have extensive practical knowledge of Java for 5+ years and provide a deep understanding of the SDK (Java6+)
You have a University/Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Game Development, Computer Engineering, Engineering Sciences or related/comparable qualification
Preferably, you have successfully worked on at least one shipped game
You have strong interpersonal and communication skills
You are a profound OOP developer with strong concurrent programming skills
You have experience with client/server communication protocol implementations
You provide practical experience with DB(M)S in design and normalization
Your knowledge in build, release and deploy management (CI) is proven
You provide profound and disciplined programming skills with state-of-the-art knowledge and experience in system design, architectures and best practices
You have experience with other languages (e.g. C#, PHP)
You are passionate about gaming
You are fluent in technical and business English
