EB Games continues its aggressive expansion into Europe, by announcing today it's to buy Spanish-based retail outlet Jump.

Jump currently has 141 stores in Spain, primarily selling PC products and related materials. Electronics Boutique has expressed intentions to introduce video game hardware and software over the coming months.

“We are very pleased that we will have an established foothold in Spain,” said Jeffrey Griffiths, president and CEO of Electronics Boutique. “The management team at Jump consists of strong retailers with many years of experience in the Spanish market, making them ideal partners for this next phase of our international growth.”

Spain is considered the fourth largest retail market for video games in Europe, and EB already has stores in Germany, Denmark, Italy and Norway.

The acquisition of Jump is expected to close in the second quarter of 2006.
