Cars leads Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Nintendo’s New Super Mario Bros in second and third places respectively, though all three titles see a drop in sales.

EA’s The Sims 2 holds firm in four, thanks to a slight sales rise – the same can be said of Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 5 in fifth spot.

Nintendo’s Dr Kawashima’s Brain Traning also stays put at six, ahead of climbing Nintendo DS title Animal Crossing Wild World, which after dropping out of the top ten for a few weeks continues its resurgence, claiming seventh spot.

Microsoft’s Eastern Xbox 360 brawler Ninety-Nine Nights is a new entry at eight, just ahead of Lucasart’s Star Wars: Battlefront II at number nine, which climbs two places. Tenth spot is claimed by EA’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which falls three spots.

There are two other new entries in the top 40 – Eidos’s Reservoir Dogs at 14 and EA’s Madden NFL 07 at 37.
