The supermarkets are at it again – Tesco and Asda have once more cut opening weekend prices on the new FIFA on PS2 to under £25.
Asda’s weekend promotion sees EA’s FIFA ‘07 on sale at a lowest-ever price of £24.77, while Tesco is offering the mammoth footie franchise for £24.97 for a limited time.
The move has already prompted indies up and down the land to buy all the supermarkets' day one stock and place it on their own shelves, as the limited edition RRP undercuts trade prices considerably.
MCV has been contacted by several who have followed in this now-annual pilgrimage to pick up dirt-cheap copies of FIFA.
Specialists GAME and Gamestation can’t compete either; they have each gone out at £29.99, and even online giants Play.com and Amazon.co.uk can’t match the supermarkets’ buying power – they each stick to the expected £29.99.
