SCi’s Cavanagh awarded OBE

Founder and chief executive of SCi Jane Cavanagh has been presented with an OBE for her services to the games industry in the New Year’s Honours List.

The prestigious award means that Cavanagh joins SCi colleague Ian Livingstone, who was honoured last year, as a proud OBE recipient.

The accolade comes after a hugely successful year for the Britsoft firm, with a string of hits including Tomb Raider: Legend, Hitman: Blood Money and Just Cause.

And after the firm’s deal with Warner, giving the publisher access to several high profile licences and its gigantic US distribution network, Cavanagh and SCi aren’t finished there. Major developer acquisitions and expansion is also in the pipeline, alongside a major push in to new media, as revealed by MCV.

Cavanagh has also been named as one of the top 100 entrepreneurs by Management Today magazine, coming in at 17th place. It lists the UK publisher as having increased its turnover by a massive 894 per cent in the last five years.
