Europe shines, but Infogrames sales still falling

Infogrames has reported a 24 per cent drop in sales for the last nine months, with revenues for the three-month period ending December 31st falling to E221.9m from E291.9 in the previous fiscal year.

The French publisher claims that the fall in revenue during the period – and in particular during the third quarter – was primarily caused by a significant decline in business by the group’s US subsidiaries as it has completed its restructuring.

During the period, the group’s European operations accounted for 58 per cent of Infogrames revenue (up from 49 per cent last year), while US subsidiaries (Atari) accounted for 33 per cent (compared to 42 per cent last year). Asian sales remained stable at nine per cent.
