A senior executive at PC vendor Dell has confirmed that the giant US firm is looking into launching a handheld console as it looks to increase its presence in the games market.
PC Plus reports that having revealed its new gaming PC, the snappily-titled XPS 710 H2C, the company’s global gaming boss Abizar Vakharia was asked whether Dell would consider a move into the handheld space. He responded: “You know, that's definitely one that's on the radar screen, but we have no plans to talk about anything today.”
Dell has already made it clear that it is looking to increase its presence in gaming with the recent acquisition of hardcore gamer favourite Alienware.
It is thought that the new device would most likely be a PC-based format because of Dell’s ties with Intel and Microsoft.
