Lost Planet digs in at number one

In a strong week for Japanese publishers, Capcom’s Lost Planet enjoys its third week at the top of the ChartTrack All Formats Top 40.

Despite experiencing a drop in sales, Lost Planet’s triumph means that it has only been off the top spot once since its release last month, having been outsold by Blizzard’s World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade on its second week of release.

It marks a strong performance from Eastern publishers in the UK charts, with six of the top ten titles originating from the Far East: Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer 6 at number two, Sega’s Sega Mega Drive Collection debuting at number four and Nintendo’s Wario Ware: Smooth Moves, Wii Play and New Super Mario Bros in fifth, seventh and eighth respectively.

The other titles completing the top ten listing are EA’s FIFA 07, Need for Speed: Carbon and The Sims 2: Pets at third, sixth and tenth respectively and THQ’s Cars at number nine.

Elsewhere in the Top 40, Blast’s Little Britain: The Video Game enters the charts at number 14, Nintendo’s Star Fox Command and Ubisoft’s Rocky Balboa both enter the listing for the first time on their second week of release at number 26 and 27 respectively and Koch’s Vanguard: Sage of Heroes debuts at 34.
