Disney eyeing further dev deals

Ambitious publisher Disney Interactive has told MCV it is targeting more studio acquisitions.

Following on from its swoop for Climax Racing studios late last year, Disney Interactive Studios’ vice president Thierry Braille has revealed that it plans to ramp up its development capability even further.

“I think we have spectacular growth this year so far,” he said. “We are increasing our presence significantly and we have a mission to become a top publisher very fast."

"Further development deals is of course something we cannot talk about specifically but one can expect that as part of our growth plan we will of course consider more actions like the ones we saw with Climax Racing Studio.”

It’s been a busy period for the publisher formerly known as BVG - this latest news follows the firm’s decision to release non-Disney IP like Turok and Anno under the Touchstone label in Europe, having also re-branded to become Disney Interactive Studios.
