GDC: Xbox 360 to get memory boost

New pack will be 448MB larger than Microsoft's previous offering.

Microsoft is to release a new 512MB memory unit for the Xbox 360 worldwide on April 3rd.

Reuters reports that the pack will retail for an estimated USD49.99 in the US (around GBP25.99).

It will be pre-loaded with the Xbox Live Arcade game Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved from developer Bizarre Creations. Microsoft’s original 64MB memory unit will simultaneously drop in price from USD39.99 (around GBP27.99) to UDS29.99 (around GBP15.99) .

Details of the new unit were revealed at the Games Developers Conference in San Francisco, which is running throughout this week.
