Rockstar and Timbaland reveal new music game

PSP title created in association with hip-hop producer.

Rockstar has announced that its next release will be a PSP version of Beaterator – its professional music editing programme.

US super producer Timbaland has provided original music and a built-in sound kit that will only be available through the game, which will be released in the summer.

The software will be based on Rockstar’s own internet-based Beaterator, which was released on the web in 2005.

The PSP version will feature several rhythm games and challenge gamers to test their beat-making skills.

“I've always been a huge fan of Rockstar and love playing their games,” said Timbaland. “I'm thrilled to be partnering with them and making music for Beaterator.  I cannot wait to get this in the hands of our fans.”

The news comes hot on the heels of Eidos’ announcement at GDC of its new PSP release Traxxpad, which will offer virtual sequences, drum machine and keyboards.
