Rockstar’s PS2 Grand Theft Auto port sees series return to the top of the charts.

The market power of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto franchise has conquered all yet again this week, with the latest instalment, Vice City Stories, shunting Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 off the top of the ChartTrack All Formats Top 40.

It was a close run race, however, with only 200 unit sales between the two games.

Ubisoft’s shooter still manages to claim second spot in the Top Ten this week, just ahead of Square Enix’s PS2 RPG Final Fantasy XII, which falls one spot to third place. Sega’s Sonic and the Secret Rings, meanwhile, holds firm in fourth place.

The release of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 on Wii, meanwhile, sees EA’s sports sim surge back up the charts to claim fifth position, one spot ahead of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 action romp Crackdown. Seventh spot is occupied by Atari’s Test Drive Unlimited, following its release on PS2.

EA’s FIFA 07 and The Sims 2: Seasons both fall one spot to claim eighth and ninth respectively, whilst Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training rounds off the list in tenth spot.

Elsewhere in Top 40, Disney Interactive Studios’ DS adventure title Spectrobes debuts in 23rd place and EA’s SSX Blur enters the charts at 33.
