Microsoft: 'No evidence' of Live hacking

Platform holder moves to calm fears of a security breach after gamertags hijacked.

Having investigated claims that Xbox Live accounts and gamertags are being stolen by unscrupulous users, Microsoft has moved to deny any problems with the service, says next-gen.biz.

“We want to reassure all of our 6 million Xbox Live members that we have looked into the situation and found no evidence of any compromise of the security of Bungie.net or our Live network,” says the statement.

The news follows a recent admission by a Microsoft spokesperson that "There have been reports of fraudulent activity and account theft taking place on the Xbox Live network."
