Classic ‘80s arcade romp coming to Blu-Ray this April.
Cinematronics’ Dragon’s Lair was a graphical revelation when it hit arcades in 1983, and now publisher Digital Leisure is hoping to revisit former glories with a new PS3 version.
The game was the first to use laserdisc technology, allowing for far higher graphics resolutions than any other technology available at the time, giving the game a genuine cartoon-like appearance.
Following its re-release on PC last year, Digital Leisure is to transfer the entire game onto Blu-Ray disc, and promises that the game will run in true 1080p high definition.
It will also be the first game to use the Blu-Ray Java programming language, a standard devised to allow for more authentic arcade gaming.
Dragon’s Lair will be released on April 9th.
