Shares rise as platform holder increases sales and profits forecast.
Though its final end of year financials will not be announced until April 26th, Nintendo has raised its sales and profits forecasts for the last financial year for the fourth time, prompting a rise in its share price.
Next Generation reports that sales are expected to total YEN966 billion, or $8.1 billion, for the year ending March 31st, an increase from the previous forecast of YEN900 billion.
The key to Nintendo’s fortunes is the ongoing success of its handheld DS console, coupled with a spectacular global launch for it’s next-gen Wii console.
