Multi-format guitar title rumoured for Q4, as 360 version is a major hit for indie retail.
Activision's rock franchise Guitar Hero could be on for a third outing this autumn, if internet rumours of 'leaks' are to be believed.
According to a number of sites, Guitar Hero creator RedOctane let slip on its website that the third title will be released on PS2, PS2, Xbox 360 and Wii in the US this Q4. Activision has not confirmed the rumour.
Meanwhile, whilst it enjoyed a respectable number five position in the official UK ChartTrack listing this week, Guitar Hero II on Xbox 360 appeared to perform even better within independent retail stores. The game shot straight to the top of the Game Guide/Complete Epos Solutions All Formats chart, whilst also taking the top spot in the individual Xbox 360 listing.
