Ubisoft announces Jam Sessions

New music title confirmed for Nintendo handheld.

Ubisoft is to launch Jam Sessions, which allows gamers to create music by strumming a guitar on the DS Touch Screen.

The title is set to arrive in EMEA territories this summer and will give consumers the opportunity to produce an authentic guitar sound digitally remastered from an actual acoustic guitar. A number of gameplay options are available, including Performance Mode, allowing users to sing and play along with artists old and new; Free-Play Mode, where gamers can play anything they choose; and Tutorial Mode.

"Jam Sessions is an amazing title wtih limitless potential to entertain and engage a wide audience of people who love music, guitar and singing," said Ubisoft's EMEA marketing director John Parkes.

"Basically, it's a guitar in your pocket, but that's just the beginning. It's a chance for people who have never thought of themselves as 'musically inclined' to jump right in and play through entire songs, compose their own music and sing along with friends."
