Sega Marvels at new super hero deal

Captain America, The Hulk and Thor join the publisher's stable.

Sega has extended its relationship with Marvel Entertainment, signing up the video games rights to three more super heroes.

Under the multi-year licensing agreement, Sega will create titles for console, handheld and PC platforms based on both the classic comic books and planned movie adaptations of Captain America, The Hulk and Thor. The deal follows the announcement that Sega will create games based on Marvel's Iron Man.

"Video games are an ideal medium to showcase the appeal and excitement of our super hero franchises," said Marvel Studios' chairman David Maisel. "Sega is one of the industry's most innovative game developers and we are thrilled to partner with them to bring Captain America, The Hulk and Thor to the video gaming arena."

Sega of America's president and COO Simon Jeffery added: "As Sega continues to create games that are built from the ground up to appeal to Western audiences, it makes perfect sense to work with a powerhouse like Marvel."
