G2 Games gets £22.5 million windfall

Major cash injection from South African investment group boosts fledgling firm.

G2 games now plans to use the £22.5m to become a major player in the publishing world - and is even targeting a city listing.

“Such financial backing has put the company in the position of bidding on some very large intellectual properties – one of which will be announced in the coming weeks,” says a statement from the firm.

“G2 Games are also in the process of considering the company be listed on the AIM exchange – a move well suited for the innovative and fast-growing company.”

Meanwhile the firm is gearing up for its first major release of the year, PC title Enemy Engaged 2. It will be hitting retail on April 27th.

“The fan response for the game has been overwhelming” says G2 Games’ Adam Cole. “When we announced the home page for the game, we had more than 200,000 unique visitors in the fist 48 hours. We are creating a game that is faithful to the original title but looks and feels like an entirely next-generation experience.”
