New Tom Clancy franchise unveiled

Next-gen strategy title EndWar headed by ex-Total War dev.

The hugely successful Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon franchises have been joined by a new member to the Tom Clancy stable – strategy title EndWar.

Set in World War III, development on the game, which is underway at Ubisoft’s Shanghai studio, will be headed up by Michael de Plater, one the original figures behind Creative Assembly’s critically acclaimed Total War series.

“Our development teams are invigorated to be creating the first 100 per cent next-generation Tom Clancy brand,” Ubisoft’s chief creative director Serge Hascoët stated. “EndWar will allow gamers to lead their own armies against hundreds of others online in real global locations on the massive battlefields of World War III.”

To date, Ubisoft’s Tom Clancy games have sold over 45 million copies worldwide.

EndWar has been pencilled in for release this financial year, which ends next April, on ‘next-generation formats’.
