Former Korean NCsoft employees investigated for leak involving upcoming MMO.
Authorities in Korea are investigating seven ex-NCsoft employees from the firm’s South Korean HQ who have allegedly aided in the leak of code from the publisher’s upcoming MMO title, Lineage III.
The accused are said to have been involved in the plot to sell the code to an unnamed third party, according to Korean news agency Digital Chosun. The theft is believed to have occurred last February, though it is suspected that leaks may have occurred as early as last September.
Digital Chosun quotes an NCsoft spokesperson as revealing that the incident could cost the company anything up to £50 million.
