PaRappa the Rapper PSP heading West

Sony’s rhythm-action sequel arriving in North America this July.

Six years on from its last appearance on a Sony console, Sony’s PSP resurrection of its PaRappa the Rapper franchise on PSP has been given a North American release date of July.

It was initially released in Japan last December.

The game, still tentatively titled simply PaRappa the Rapper, contains six tracks from the PSOne original, a game that came out in 1996, as well as a range of brand new features including four-player LAN multiplayer. Original artist Alan Greenblat was also recruited once again.

Parappa’s last outing was PaRappa the Rapper 2, which was released on PS2 in Japan in 2001 and in Europe in 2002.

Details of a European release are yet to be announced.
