Sales for year ending March 31st reach $1.51 billion

US publisher Activision has announced its preliminary financial results for the quarter and fiscal year ending March 31st, showing that the company enjoyed annual net revenues of $1.51 billion.

This figure beats the previous year’s $1.47 billion, and is well ahead of the publisher’s original forecast of $1.40 billion.

Activision’s fourth quarter revenues showed an even greater increase, jumping from $188 million in the previous year to $313 million. Its estimate for the period had been $200 million.

“Fiscal 2007 net revenues are expected to be the highest in Activision’s history,” chairman and CEO Robert Kotick stated. “Our results were driven by our proven properties Call of Duty 3, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and Tony Hawk’s Project 8, our successful integration of the RedOctane business and expansion of the Guitar Hero franchise globally, our early leadership position on the next-gen consoles and the strength of our distribution business.

“We ended fiscal 2007 as the number two US third-party publisher, grew our market share in the US and had two of the top ten best selling US titles, according to The NPD Group.”
