Microsoft touts five Xbox movie tie-ins on the way in the coming months
With the sometimes sparse next-gen release schedules of all three of the current big-hitting consoles often coming under the spotlight, third-party publisher support is more important then ever at the moment – now Microsoft has pointed out that five of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters due out this summer will also be making their way to Xbox 360.
Following the release of Activision’s Spider-Man 3 earlier this month, the 25th of May will see Disney Interactive Studios’ Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, the third instalment in the adventures of charismatic seafarer Jack Sparrow.
June sees the arrival of a further Activision title – this time it’s the animated Shrek The Third, which is another series welcoming its third instalment. This platform romp is due out on June 29th.
Following closely on its heels is the cinematic adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s fifth Harry Potter book, Order of the Pheonix. EA are at the helm once again, with the game due out on July 13th.
Finally, Activision’s third title, Transformers, will arrive in conjunction with the big-screen debut of the popular ‘80s cartoon on July 29th.

"These action-packed Xbox 360 games let kids and adults alike take all the adventure and excitement of this summer’s hottest films home with them,” said Xbox.com columnist Duncan Mackenzie.
"I can’t think of a better way to spend some quality time with the kids than to turn our favourite movies into an interactive experience; chatting and laughing as we take on the role of our favourite characters."
