Rockstar’s racer returns for fourth instalment
The developer behind Grand Theft Auto and Manhunt is to resurrect its Midnight Club series with the announcement of Midnight Club: Los Angeles, which is due out on PS3 and Xbox 360 early next year.
“Midnight Club's addictive blend of freedom, style and sheer sense of speed sets it apart from its competition,” Rockstar boss Sam Houser said. “With Midnight Club: Los Angeles, Rockstar San Diego looks to once again push the boundaries and expectations of what a racing game can be.
“Rockstar San Diego has always been the technology leader in delivering the ultimate racing experience, and with this game, they are looking to redefine the idea of a completely immersive racing game experience, both offline and online."
Midnight Club was one of the first racing titles to embrace the car-modding community, though subsequent games, such as EA’s Need for Speed and THQ’s Juiced, have since bought into the scene.
