One of the worst kept secrets in the industry has finally been confirmed with official word on Blizzard’s upcoming Starcraft II finally seeing the light of day.

The game has apparently been in development since 2003, though it also says it has no intentions of releasing the sequel “until it’s ready”.

The three races players saw in the original game will return, along with a number of new additions and gameplay tweaks that the firm promises will “broaden the combat experience”. New features include suicide units that explode into a cloud of acid, time distortion and point-to-point teleporting.
