Though firm details remain under wraps for the time being, EA has begun the hype campaign for the latest annual addition to its Need for Speed series by circulating a trailer hinting at the possible features gamers can look forward to.

Need for Speed: Pro Street, as some sources are claiming it to be called, looks to take a leaf out of Burnout’s book, a game incidentally that is also owned by EA, by upping the role played by vehicle combat. Trading paint and full on vehicular destruction seem to be the flavour of the day, with the trailer showcasing some visually pleasing crash scenes.

It has yet to be revealed whether this new NFS will be a next-gen exclusive or whether it will continue EA’s tradition of appearing on more or less every format on the market.

Expect Pro Street to arrive at retail in the weeks before Christmas.
