Ubisoft has revealed it will be releasing a game based on Robert Zemeckis' Beowulf movie this Christmas.
The news was announced at the company's Ubidays event taking place today and tomorrow in Paris.
Although there were no materials to show the attendant press and retailers at the the kick-off conference, Ubisoft's Alain Corre said the game would "reinvent the hack and slash genre".
The movie is based on the classic old English legend, and stars Angelina Jolie and Anthony Hopkins - both stars are signed up to appear in the game, said Corre.
The game is being developed by Ubisoft's French team which worked on Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter.
"We think it will be an amazing game," added Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.
