UbiDays: Raving Rabbids 2 hops into view

Publisher event also sees glimpses of new Splinter Cell, EndWar, Assassin's Creed and Haze

Though new game announcements have been thin on the ground at Ubisoft’s ongoing UbiDays event in Paris, the French publisher has confirmed that Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is on the way to Wii and DS later this year.

The sequel promises even more humour than last year’s quirky outing, along with a greater selection of mini games.

Elsewhere at the event, attendees were able to get up close and personal with a number of Ubisoft’s upcoming titles. Chief amongst the announcements was the news that the publisher will be releasing a game based on Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming Beowulf movie.

Splinter Cell: Conviction sees long-term government agent Sam Fisher turn fugitive, ditching his high-tech approach to lethal sneaking in favour of a more hands-on approach. The revitalised character now dons a hoody and full head of hair in place of his trademark green night goggles.

There were also glimpses of the newest franchise to join the Tom Clancy family – EndWar. An interesting blend of RTS and Full Spectrum Warrior-type up close and personal combat, it was also revealed that the game will be controlled purely by voice.

Elsewhere, attendees were able to sample the likes of Brothers in Arms: Hell’s Highway, next-gen FPS Haze, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja and Assassin’s Creed – the last of which will be made available to gamers via a demo in July, most likely at E3.
