Tactical PSP version reportedly on the way
Whilst 2004’s PS2 shooter R Type Final was allegedly the closing chapter in the successful 2D side-scrolling shooter series, Japanese games bible Famitsu is reporting that a new instalment in the series is indeed on the way.
CVG reports that R-Type Tactics has been pencilled in for a PSP release in the coming months. No other details are known about the game, but the name suggests that this outing might detour from the traditional offerings in favour of a more strategic approach.
It is not currently clear whether long-term series developer Irem will be involved with the project.
