
New entries Pirates of the Caribbean and Mario Strikers run Spider-Man 3 close
Activision’s web-slinging movie licence can now boast four weeks atop the official ChartTrack all formats UK top 40 listings. Peter Parker beat off two big name new entries in the form of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End and Wii release Mario Strikers Charged Football, which debut this week at number two and three respectively.
Nintendo’s impressive recent performance with DS and Wii shows no signs of stopping, with Wii Play up to number six, DS title Dr. Kawashima’s Brain Training at seven and 505 Games’ Cooking Mama at ten.
EA also keeps the cash rolling in with three entries in the top ten, namely Command and Conquer 3 at four, Tiger Woods at eight and FIFA ’07 at nine.
Elsewhere in the chart, Ubisoft’s TMNT and EA’s The Sims 2: Pets both leap up ten places but narrowly miss out on a top ten berth, coming in at 11 and 12 respectively. Eidos’ Pony Friends makes it into the top forty in its second week on the shelves at number 18, while the only other new releaase to make it into the top 40 this week is Konami’s PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.
