Need for Speed ProStreet officially named

Last week’s rumours confirmed as annual update revs engines

Claiming to take the successful driving franchise in a new direction, Need for Speed ProStreet has been officially named after rumours surfaced following last week’s release of EA’s trailer.

Street racing and head-to-head showdowns are the order of the day this time, along with an expected next-gen ‘photo-realistic’ graphical overhaul. Also new is the fact that alterations made in the Autosculpt mode, which alters the look of a gamer’s car, will now effect the performance as well as simply the aesthetic stylings.

“Need for Speed ProStreet accelerates street racing culture by providing the ultimate stage for the pursuit of street racing supremacy,” the game’s executive producer Larry LaPierre stated. “This is a game about building the ultimate performance-tuned battle machine, taking it to multi-disciplinary showdowns all over the world and pitting your skills and reputation against the very best street racers.”

Need for Speed ProStreet will be out later this year on Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 and Wii.
