PS3, 360, PC, PS2, PSP and DS football sim is given a brand new name, and is ready to hit UK retail this Autumn
Japanese publisher and developer Konami has revealed the first details concerning its upcoming football sequel Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 – chief of which is the fact that it will be out this autumn and be released on PS2 as well as next-gen formats, PC and handhelds.
In addition, the game looks set to alter its standard titling policy, with the expected PES 7 moniker ditched in favour of PES 2008. Gamers will also be delighted to hear that a full editing suite is also set to be included – a step up from the stripped-down editing features seen in last year’s 360 outing.
Chief amongst the new features is Teamvision – a brand new AI programme that allows the CPU to adapt to a gamer’s individual style of play, meaning that if a player favours a particular route of attack the game will learn to prevent it, and more importantly, how to make the most of it for its own gain.
The number of on-the-ball dribble moves has also been upped, whilst the set-pieces have been completely reworked, allowing for the alteration of the defensive wall. And, as was expected the graphics have been given a suitable next-gen overhaul.
“We have taken a long hard look at what has made the Pro Evolution Soccer series so popular, and where we want to take it next,” PES producer Shingo ‘Seabass’ Takatsuka stated.

“With the new Teamvision AI system, we truly believe that we have elevated the game to a new level. The movement of players off the ball, coupled with the total control given to the player, creates the closest simulation of real football to date. We really hope everyone enjoys our evolution. I promise it will be worth the wait.”

this is gunna singlehandehly justify the money i spent on ps3 i just cant wait. and they even sorted out the editing problem from 360. roll on autumn
I believe
I didn't really get on with PES6 - found myself playing PES5 instead - but I can't help but be ridiculously excited by the prospect of this. Proper next-gen graphics, FULL EDITING!!!! and decent online multiplayer. Sounds like the single player stuff will be a bit beefier too. Imagine that - the genius of the Master League combined with adaptive AI. I won't need any other games this Winter.
