EA’s epic universe sim is rumoured to have suffered a major slip
CVG’s Gavin Ogden reports that Will Wright’s massively hyped ‘universe-sim’ Spore has allegedly been delayed, and will not now appear until fiscal year 2009. The delay could indicate, according to speculation at least, that the game is now planned for consoles as well as PC.
The last we heard of the game, EA confirmed that it would be released no earlier than fiscal year 2008, which ends in March next year. Though its estimated arrival in the following fiscal period could point towards a Christmas ’08 release, it could yet mean a wait just short of two years.
Fans of the game, which have swelled in numbers since its recent hands-on demo with lead producer Will Wright, will no doubt to be hoping for further details at next month’s E3.
