Hirai: 200 PS3 games planned by next March

SCE President says publishing boost to be paired with an additional 180 download-only titles on PlayStation Network

SCE president Kazuo Hirai has stated that Playstation 3 owners can expect as many as 200 games to arrive on the platform by the end of the current business year next March.

Reuters reports that Hirai also claims that an additional 180 titles will be made available via the company’s PlayStation Network in the same time period – meaning a total of 380 games will be made available in the designated timeframe.

He went on to add that the increased focus on available software was intended to help boost slow sales of the console.

The SCE president added that his company will be working closely with publishers on marketing and in-store events to help insure the rate of game releases is increased.
