ChartTrack stats show strong year-on-year growth for both hardware and software sales
ChartTrack has revealed that the total games, hardware and accessories revenue for the first half of 2007 is up a massive 42 per cent year-on-year.
Unit sales have also seen a significant boost, rising 25 per cent compared to 2006’s half-year figures, while total console hardware revenues have grown a staggering 87 per cent, with volumes up 51 per cent year-on-year.
Games software performed strongly too – units are 19 per cent higher, and revenue has increased by 17 per cent.
“We are on track for the biggest year ever in the UK,” said ChartTrack director Dorian Bloch. “I didn’t forecast at the beginning of the year that we would be seeing growth like this and there is no reason to think that the rest of the year won’t continue this upwards trend.”
