Potter holds firm at number one

29 per cent increase in sales sees EA’s movie licence maintain chart dominance

Though the film isn’t out until the end of this week, EA’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix has made it two weeks at the top of the ChartTrack All Formats Top 40 with a week-on-week sales increase of 29 per cent.

It manages to hold off firm competition from Nintendo’s More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima which jumps from number five last week to second spot, one place ahead of Activision’s Shrek the Third which spends its second week at number three.

2K Games’ The Darkness slips two places to number four, ahead of another title moving downwards – Capcom’s Resident Evil 4, which falls one place to number five. Nintendo’s Wii Play climbs from tenth to sixth, whilst Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Vegas holds firm in seventh spot.

Microsoft’s Forza Motorsport drops from number six to number eight, whilst Disney Interactive’s movie tie-in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End holds on to a top ten place, though it falls one position to ninth. The original Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training re-enters the Top Ten in tenth position.

Elsewhere in the chart Eidos’s PS3 re-make Ninja Gaiden: Sigma debuts at 19th.
