After the recent fears that BioWare’s highly anticipated Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect might not see the light of day until 2008, Microsoft has confirmed that the game will at last arrive this November.

Mass Effect is the latest adventure from the studio that in the past has delivered the likes of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Neverwinter Nights and Baldur’s Gate. It is also currently hard at work on the as-of-yet unnamed Sonic RPG on PSP.

Mass Effect itself is supposedly the first part of trilogy. Set in the year 2183, the story revolves around an ancient alien prophecy stating that every 50,000 years an alien machine race comes to the galaxy to harvest all sapient organic life, and the time of their return is approaching.
