E3 2007: ‘Check Mii out’, says Nintendo

Platform holder announces new Wii channel

Nintendo revealed details of a new online area of Wii during its E3 conference – the snappily titled ‘Check Mii Out’.

The channel lets players up load Mii avatars that they have created and customised, before having a worldwide audience vote on them.

Nintendo plans to run contests in which gamers will be challenged to create accurate Wii doppelgangers of famous people or celebrities. The company also revealed that it plans to run other kinds of competitions.

The channel will be free to download and available later this year.
