Pokemon Diamond tops Australian charts

The title finishes on top, while Nintendo platforms claim six of the ten positions

Pokemon Diamond on the DS has risen to the top of the Australian All Format Charts this week, with Pokemon Pearl close on its tail at number three, according to GfK’s chart results.

Transformers on the PS2 is sandwiched between the DS titles at number two, no doubt popularised by the impending release of the motion picture, while Sing Star Pop Hits Bundle on the PS2 remains in fourth position.

As well as the high flying Pokemon DS titles, Nintendo’s grip on the charts is further illustrated by an additional three DS titles – More Brain Training at number five, Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training just behind at number six, and Ice Age 2 The Meltdown at number ten. Interestingly, Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition at number eight represents the only next gen entry in the charts.

Elsewhere, Afl Premiership 2007 on the PS2 stood firm at number seven, while Eyetoy Sports Bundle Ptm rose to number nine.
