The biggest trade and consumer event in Europe has appointed MCV as media partner
Game Connection in Leipzig will have a greater trade focus this year, with anticipation already rising for press conferences from Nintendo, Microsoft, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and the leading third party publishers.
As well as attracting over 200,000 consumers, the event boasts a trade day on Wednesday August 22nd, which is expected to have a more international attendance than ever before.
A dedicated trade hall will also run throughout the show, with a special print edition of MCV being circulated, plus daily online updates and email newsflashes via mcvuk.com.
"I am delighted with this important media partnership agreement between MCV and Games Convention,” said Julian Maddocks-Born, director of ITSL, the UK representative of show organiser Leipziger Messe.
“It illustrates the growing importance of GC from an international point of view. To tie up with the leading UK media outlet covering this sector can only be beneficial for both parties".

MCV will carry a full preview of the increasingly important show, offering a guide to exhibitors plus hints and tips for visitors from outside Germany.
“With E3 being a very US-orientated affair this year, Leipzig has become crucial for the European trade ahead of Q4. We expect some big news, particularly from Sony, and we’re thrilled to be working so closely with the show organiser - both in print and online,” commented MCV publisher and Intent Media managing director Stuart Dinsey.
The special print edition of MCV with extra circulation at Leipzig will initially hit UK and European subscribers from Friday August 17th.
